Overwriting through FTP should be sufficient. Don't click on the red link to delete the plugin (on plugins page) otherwise you would lose all your translations.
NB: Updating through WordPress does not update to the development version but only to the latest "stable" version (currently 1.1.3). If you were already using the latest version, this option should not be proposed.
