First, I know Polylang IS the fastest multilingual out there.
Our Hebrew-English website worked super fast until few days ago when I associated English pages to a category. After this action, suddenly the loading time of an Hebrew page jumped from one second to 3-4 seconds on my PC. The loading time of an English page remained pretty much the same, maybe a small increase.
There are 3 associated Hebrew categories and (now) 1 English one. Prior to this action, the English pages were not associated (although fully active) as result of an old upgrade.
I read several post related to Polylang and slow performance and I know you don't trust P3 (which shows Polylang takes 76% of the time; prior to this recent development, Polylang's part was like all other 10+ addons) but maybe as result of the described above you will have a tip for us.
