If your blocks in your page are handling as custom fields, this option must be unchecked. Otherwise all modification will be copied in all translations.

This is the TEXT BLOCK, at my custom homepage
http://snag.gy/SFyKh.jpg

I change the titles of TABS only for ENGLIS (as you can see) and it changes for english and portuguese....

NOTE. At polylang > setting, i uncheck CUSTOM FIELDS like you said.

I'll cut my wrists!

Have you a wpml-config.xml in your directory? If yes could you paste it here by using the code button in the toolbar?

CarreAssociates on "[Plugin: Polylang] One page with both languages + Doesn't work right"

Hello,

Here is my website : http://www.carreassociates.com
Im working on it in local, directly on my lap top. I ll download it when it's ready.
But I have few problems with polylang... :s

1st - Some pages are exactly the same in both languages. Do I have to duplicate them ? (it's actually a lot of galleries).
Can I say that: whatever the language chosen, it's always the same page, only the menu on the top changes with the language selected ?

2nd- I did everything and followed all the lessons. But when I m going by this way :
APPARENCE / PERSONALISER --> It works !

By this way :
when I click on the top left button to see my website --> It doesn't work !

- When I click on the language, I go to the front page
However I didn't check the case "force link to the front page" in the MENU selection...
- And the menu don't change
However I create a French menu, AND a dutch menu...

Well... But as I said... in
APPARENCE / PERSONALISER --> It works !

So I don't know what to do...

Many thanks for your help !! :) Hope it's not too difficult and that my english is quite clear :)

Oh thanks Jory, I will have a try and let you know!

Personally I think it is a absolutely mandatory feature for a translation plugin :-)

Couldn't agree more with what Monique23 states. Jory, that look like a nice plugin but I'd rather go "native" and wait to hear back from a Polylang developer. I can't image why the functionality of the polylang-slug plugin is not included in Polylang and this issue remains.

Would be great if the developer chimes in. Thanks.

Is this going to be implemented? Or may be somebody has already a solution? I know there was one plugin called "Polylang displays all posts", but I suppose it is not working anymore with the latest versions of Polylang.

May be somebody already has a solution or could point me in the direction of how I could use custom post type without activated translation to also include language slug. It would show the same page, but I would be able to modify content (like menus and other text) depending on the language the post is being viewed in.

For example:
now the permalink to custom post type without translation is
mysite.com/my-cpt/mypost/ (even if I have not checked "Hide URL language information for default language" - would be great to have it working in both ways)
but I would like it to be
mysite.com/en/my-cpt/mypost/ or mysite.com/my-cpt/mypost/ (if the "Hide URL language information for default language" is checked) and
mysite.com/de/my-cpt/mypost/
mysite.com/fr/my-cpt/mypost/

So exactly the same post's content is displayed, but using different language. May be it could be achieved by adding some custom rewrite rules, but of course the language switcher should also have the same corresponding permalinks to other languages even if it is the same custom post without translation.

Usage example could be some product catalog where for product there is only title like ID and has some image, so the translation is not needed. But I need to know in what language the product is being viewed.

Could you ask to your theme author if there is an option to disable this behavior for the "Section text" thanks to a wpml-config.xml, an option in the theme, or by a custom code ..?

Hi
Did you try the Duplicate post plugin?

Aurovrata Venet on "[Plugin: Polylang] categories appeared to be empty"

no, you actually have to create a new product for each language. You do this by clicking the '+' link on the product table.

For example if you have 'Ladies shoe' as a product post. You click the '+' sign for that product post and it will create a new product post in that language, give the translated title for the product (for example in French it would be 'Chaussures pour femme') and you attach the same (translated) feature image media to this post and publish it.

When someone visits your site, they can select the product, switching the language will get WP to request the translated post in the database.

Hello! I am running a child theme of Zerif Lite. I use Polylang and have a Norwegian version and an English version of the webpage. I have a Simple Calendar Widget that is activated for both languages on the front page. It works fine on the English version, but in the Norwegian version the front page won't load unless I deactivate that specific widget. I have no idea why this happens and would be were happy if someone could help me:)
