chinese language pack not working
Hello,
I’ve installed the chinese language pack in the language/plugins folder.
I’m using Polylang.
But the language is not detected as you can see on this page :

The contact form is not yet translated, but as you can see if you submit a blank form to create an error, the error message langue is french( default language of the site).
Can you help ?

How does WP sitemap work with Polylang multiple languages

I created successfully a html-sitemap of my website, but I don’t see the English and German pages created by the Polylang plugin in this sitemap. is this correct?

error messages are not translated
Hello, I’ve just installed Contact Form 7 Polylang Module and its “mother” plugin. And CF7 started to allow me to translate forms… But the success and error messages are not translated. Do I have to do it manually ?

Hi, I’m testing the theme with Polylang.
I expected to find all the strings contained in the customization fields of the theme (for example “Read More” or the contents of the tab “Homepage (Featured)”) in the items of the “String translations” option of Polylang.
So, isn’t the theme still compatible with Polylang?
I ask because it is mentioned in his description.

Support for shortcode translation
Good evening,
First of all thank you for this excellent plugin which helps a lot.
That said, I read and applied the advices to translate the main phrases of the plugin with polylang as I have a site with 3 languages.
However:
1) I didn’t find the translation options for the shortcode [user_consent_state] in polylang.
Value written on my pages regardless the language option selected:
“Your current state:Consent Accepted. Manage your consent” >> always shows up in english.
2) I didn’t manage to set the hyperlink of the “read more” link in the plugin bar, even customizing the following translations in polylang: button_2_url, button_3_url.
I also tried to edit the link as URL and Page in the plugin configuration without any change.
Any ideas on how to solve these issues?

Navigation in Multiple tabs breaks AJAX query
Hello All,
I’ve been using Polylang for some time with great results, but i’m currently having a bit of trouble with a custom theme i’ve created.
What happens is that in one page i have a list of posts that’s obtained through a custom query via AJAX (one of the requirements of the theme is that the filters applied to the query are applied without reloading the page) the posts are loaded correctly, but if i open one of those posts on a separate tab and change the selected language, if i apply the filter again on the first tab, the query will result in the posts being the other language.
As far as i can tell, this is caused by the ‘pll_language’ cookie.
I have tried to disable it using
define(‘PLL_COOKIE’, false);
But that just breaks the language functionality on the entire website.
I’ve also tried to send the language parameter to the query with the AJAX request ( And also while using “supress_filters = true”, but that also does not seem to work.
At the moment i’m using javascript to force every page load to set the pll_language cookie the same language as the html ‘lang’ attribute (and also with each AJAX request), but i’m not sure if this will be enough to make this behaviour stop.
Any ideas if there is a more bullet proof way of getting this to work?

Translate Lodestar front page panels with Polylang
Hallo everyone,
I’m using polylang (2.5.2) to translate the website (5.1.1) of a client. The Theme I’m using is Lodestar by Automattic (1.0.8). The translation for the menus, sites, footer etc. works just fine, except for the panels of the front page. I can’t find the option where to choose the different languages. Is there a trik i don’t know of or is it just not pissible?
I searched the whole day for an answer, but noone with the same problem ever postet their solution. I hope you guys can help me.

With reference to this previous question – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/multi-language-support-22/ – we are using PolyLang on our wordpress and unfortunately theres no way that I can find to enable PolyLang for this post type – is there any fix or something planned?

Polylang will not display featured image in 2nd language
I want to display the featured image at the top of each post in English and Japanese. Japanese is set to the default language and this featured image displays correctly. However, the English featured image does not display. I have tried uploading 2 different files for featured image and assigning them for Japanese and English but this doesn’t work. When I deactivate the plugin, the featured images show as normal.
I really need to find a solution to this problem. Can someone please take a look, and help me sort it out?

How to get linked post URL in Polylang plugin
I am using polylang plugin in my wordpress website, where English is the default language and Hindi is the second language.
As you can see in the image, i have given a link to switch language, but i need your help in improving this, so that while changing the language it should link back/open the post in other language, currently these links are opening home page of each language.

Problem: Laguage switching on home page

I’m using polylang on my wordpress-site. Thanks for the Addon!
I have one question: switching the language on the homepage from English to German and back doesn’t work properly. If I swtich to English and then try to switch back to German it doesn’t work so I have to go to other links on my website in order to be able to switch the language.
Could anyone here check on that?

I had trouble from the begin on because it alwasy switched the home page to English, even though German was set to be the default language. So I had to do this in order to force German as standard language:

Portfolio + elementor + oceanWP
Hi! Hi!
I have a big problem. I work with elementor pro and with the theme oceanwp + oceanwp portfolio (add-on).
As for all the pages, articles, no worries, everything works perfectly.
On the other hand, it gets complicated with portfolio publishing.
Impossible to edit them in a language other than French (the basic language of my site).
I would therefore like to know if there are any concerns about compatibility with the tools I work with, which I mentioned above.
I have already contacted the support of elementor and OceanWp.
For the moment they have suggested that I install a plug-in “Polylang Connect for Elementor – Language Switcher & Template Tweaks” but the English portfolio editing still doesn’t work. It blocks the loading of the page with the elementor logo.

Adding existing Woocommerce product to translation
I have a site that uses Polylang. Woocommerce was added and then products for each language were created, which is not convenient since the client wants to hadndle and control the stock. Is there a way to add an existing product as a translation of another product? So to have “ProductA-Spanish” and then grab “ProductA-English” and mix them so they are translated and use the same stock?

Great plugin – but it only detects plugin strings on some websites and not others.
The following on the Settings page states: “Include the search for plugins of WordPress
It may be required additional system resources”
What exactly does this mean? Are their server settings that can be altered that may help the plugin find the strings from other plugins?

Great plugin – but doesn’t work multilingually
This is a great plugin, which works perfectly in a monolingual setup. However, it would be great to get it to work multilingually, in conjunction with the widely used Polylang multilingual plugin. When creating a portfolio item it is necessary to be able to designate which language it relates to. This is currently not possible.
Every portfolio should have a separate, distinct portfolio post for each of the languages in a multi-language site. Although it’s currently possible to link to a portfolio item in a specific language, that portfolio item will appear within a page in the default language for the website (so header and footer details will appear in the default language, not the language of the portfolio item).
Would it be possible to adapt this plugin to work multilingually?
